Mountain Biking Dunes Trail

****   Add a review
#64 of 171 mountain bike trails in North Island
#8,178 in the world

The trail is an easy ride for all the family on a well surfaced track along sand dunes with the Pacific Ocean on one side and the rugged mountains of the East Cape on the other.

On a hot summer's day it's great to combine this trail with a swim.

You can go out and back, 20km all up, or you can arrange a shuttle to pick you up at the end.

It makes for a nice warm up for the more difficult Motu Road Trail.

It's a really pleasant ride for all the family on a curvy, gently undulating track that is well surfaced and never steep. It's one of the best "family-scenic" style rides around.
