Mountain Biking Devil's Racetrack
#120 of 691 mountain bike trails in Utah
This is an out and back of about 9 miles each direction. The first mile is very sandy. After that, there's a sharp, rocky climb followed by more rocky climbing up to the high point at 2.0 miles. At 2.5 miles, you get your first view of the Devil's Racetrack, a deep, dramatic chasm cutting through the San Rafael Swell. Then there's another couple miles of ledgy, mostly downhill tread followed by a few miles of swoopy downhill doubletrack. Descent from the high point is about 1200 ft. The trail makes its way between the chasm and various rock formations along the way.

From Green River, head west on I-10 to exit 131. (Warning--roads can be rough) Go left under the interstate and follow Temple Mtn Rd 4 miles, bear right and go another 1.1 miles. Right turn then go another 1.7 and bear right again for another 1.8 miles. Turn right and go another mile. You can park here or pass under the freeway. WARNING--don't go under the freeway if you're carrying your bikes on the roof! The underpass is very low. If you go under the freeway, take the left fork, then a left at the T shortly thereafter and follow the 'road' around until you get to Dutchman's Arch (you'll know it when you see it) and park there. Beware, the 'road' after crossing under the freeway is really just a wide, sandy ATV track. It may not be suitable for passenger cars, especially during/after bad weather.
