Mountain Biking Black Water Falls State Park

****   Add a review
#37 of 108 mountain bike trails in West Virginia
#3,324 in the world

Best way to enjoy Davis trail is to start at the Allegheny Trail / Davis Trail trailhead on Canaan Loop Rd. Ride it downhill all the way to Blackwater Falls State Park. To Make a loop you can take a right on Yellow Birch Trail just before you reach the road. Sooo many trails in this area, see others near Davis WV.

Getting there
Best access to the trail is off Canaan Loop Road and ride it back toward Blackwater Falls State Park. Davis trail is also part of the Allegheny Trail on this section. This trail is part of the Park to Park route from Canaan Valley State Park to Blackwater Falls SP. You can ride Davis trail from Blackwater Falls toward Canaan Loop Rd. however it is a pretty good climb with some technical stuff in it. It also crosses Plantation Trail and can be used to make different loops in the area.

Had a really good time here. I was a little warn down from riding the Moonrocks, otherwise I would have explored more of this area. These trails are set in a thick pine forest with TONs of roots and rocks. Still only a blue/intermediate trail. I really really liked these trails. Not much else to say about it. The location is really cool, you can hear the falls and running water off in the distance.

Access this trail by way of yellow birch trail continue on Davis trail up to plantation. There you can access allegheny trail and take it down to cannan valley or stay on plantation. Several options from there.
