Mountain Biking Crystal Springs Loop
#167 of 300 mountain bike trails in Virginia
This trail climbs gently to the top of a small ridge and taverses over several more small ridges before dropping down to the old water resevoir, a great place to see frogs, fish and other critters. The ride back is an old road underneath a power line, double track. Start this trail from either direction, the difficulty really doesn't change.
There are several different trails that connect to Crystal Springs Loop trail that can make for different options back to the parking area and can be combined to gain more mileage.
Constcution has started on a 9 mile loop trail which should be completed in the next couple of years.

Lots of loose rocks a couple of sharp switch backsThank |
Road to the end of Rocky Road and back down. Steady uphill with rocky paths and multiple creek crossings. Crystal springs loop is gravel. Woodpecker Run was a quick up and down single track on the backend of the trail. Not a technical trail but lots of fun on the downhill!Thank |
