Mountain Biking Bald Mountain Trail

**   Add a review
#617 of 1,353 mountain bike trails in Colorado
#6,368 in the world

The trail is short with a really steep section, that is also short... Ride the trail CCW, about 10 times. Going CW there is a 5 foot technical section that is tough because you're going so slow uphill. The view from the top of Bald Mountain is spectacular, and the trail is nice winding through the trees. You're in mountain lion country (posted at the trail head), so bring your slower friends.

Not very fun. Agree with the other reviews that it is better suited for hiking.

More of a Hiking trail than a Mountain Bike Trail.
Too short and not worth the drive.
The ascent to the peak from the south is almost impossible (too much loose sand and rocks).
Some of the trail is beginner but some of it is intermediate. My "beginner" daughter crashed hard coming down from the peak (going north).
There is a small technical section coming down from the peak that is definitely not "beginner". I made it on my 29er).

An easy ride with great views. Almost a full 360 degree panorama from the top.
