Mountain Biking Asbury Woods/ Brown's Farm

****   Add a review
#74 of 294 mountain bike trails in Pennsylvania
#2,856 in the world

This is a fun trail. Not too technical, but there are a few steep climbs and descents. There a lot of different route options. Trails are easy to follow. while the trails are mostly dirt with few rocks there are some obstacles, such as logs and creeks to cross. The trail closer to the park can get pretty busy in the Spring and Summer with walkers and their dogs but further back on the trails is usually pretty quiet. This is one of the few good trails in Erie.

I was passing thru for work and decided to check this place out. It's not super-challenging, but there are a few technical points. Fairly flat and wide singletrack. One reviewer may have been across the street where the paths are wide and covered in mulch and there is only a mile or two of trail. I made the same mistake. I believe this is an area designed for non-biking child-friendly. The better trail is across the street by the ball field. I was fortunate to hook up with a couple of cool locals who showed me the fun lines for an hour. This place is not going give hardcore adrenaline junkies their fix, but there's good riding here. Especially if you get a local tour. There's even a few pretty hardcore jumps. I will come back the next time I'm passing through.

Once you get off the main trail, which is usually congested with walkers, you can really get in a good ride. There are plenty of trails that can provide you with a 10 plus mile ride. Look for the offshoot near the top of the hill that leads to Brown's Farm. This trail has some great switch-backs and obstacles.

Wtf, I don't know where you guys got 10 miles from, it is like 3 miles down and back. There was an abundance of kids which I almost hit one. All in all, would only recommend to people ages 8 and under as this trail suits their skill level.

Nice trails. Easy riding a few small hills nice wooded area to spend a few hours. Great for beginners to get a taste of the woods with out the need to carry a lot of gear. Good parking and a nature center that would be a good spot to take a break and check out if you have kids with you.

Dude! This place was so fun! My wife & I, who ride single tracks about every other week loved it. Get lost in these woods and have a blast. Some obstacles, rooty paths, narrow jumps and a whole lot of fun.

Easy and fun trail! Some hairy descents, massive creek to ride in, some jumps, drop offs, and other great features! We'll maintained by volunteers!

Nice place to ride with a bunch of different trails off the main paths. There are some nice climbs, jumps and log piles. Its a high mixed use trail on the wider sections with runners family dogs and kids. The off shoots are a lot more fun. Nothing crazy but great to get in an after work ride.

Very enjoyable. Especially for its location to down town Erie. Overall beginner but is great for keeping in check In-between more advanced trails. Landscape changes enough to keep it interesting. I would recommend. For this area it's a 4 star. If your from/visited out west its a two 2 star. Enjoy and try a jump or two :)

Beautifully maintained, well marked trails; nice transitions, all levels of difficulty. We especially enjoyed the river bed to cool off, and the drinking fountain at the playground area.
