#475 of 715 mountain bike trails in Utah
#2823 in the world

Armstrong is a 3-mile climb that begins near the Crescent Lift and climbs all the way up to Ham and the Mid-Mountain trail. While most of the trails at PCMR are two-way trails, Armstrong is an uphill-only trail. That means that if you're climbing you don't have to worry about dodging riders who are screaming down the mountain, making this the perfect start to a big loop ride.

Before you go
  • No Drinking water
  • No E-bikes permitted
  • No Fat biking allowed in winter
  • No Fee required
  • No Lift service
  • Night riding allowed
  • No Pump track
  • No Restrooms
Getting there
From the parking lot, turn right onto the Spiro-Payday Connector Trail. Armstrong Trail should eventually appear on the left.

Visiting PC from TN and everyone said not to miss riding up this trail. Well - it's a cool trail and I'm glad I rode it BUT- we rode it on a Monday in mid-Sept and still ran into several hikers i.e. cant imagine the hassle of trying to ride it on a weekend or during a more busy season. As it is a tremendous challenge in so far as the elevation gained - there is nothing technical going up. You only need a set of good lungs and to expect a good workout. We are old and intermediate mountain bikers at best so this was challenging. Great views -.

Nice climb in PC, nice escape from the heat in SLC. It is uphill only but watch out for rogue hikers.

Moderate grade and minimal tech uphill only trail. Does get a fair amount of hikers.
