I run the Snowshoe 2XL in front and a Surly Lou in back. (2XL won't fit in rear). This is a massive tire! Quite a bit taller, noticeably wider and considerably more volume (maybe 50% more) than the Lou. They pair nicely and work very well in snow, sand and wet conditions. The 2XL grips well in snow and noticeably better than Lou in icy conditions. If you don't need to go fast I highly recommend this tire.
If you like fat and it fits your bike, this is the deal!
Pros Amazing! I can fit this on my 190mm-spaced rigid on my SE F@R. Can't wait for the snow to fall, but have to say that traction and minimum rolling resistance has been amazing so far. Was running two bulldozers, now replaced the front for a Snowshoe 2XL and can still go just as fast.
Cons This is a pretty big tire, so I substituted fast action for all-terrain compatibility.
