This is an excellent bike overall - the many favorable reviews are right on target in terms of its abilities - climbing like an XC race bike, and descending like a true AM bike. This bike, as spec'd out of the box, is an exceptional trail machine!
Pros Amazing rear shock - the RE:aktiv damper tuning is incredibly effective at providing both small bump compliance, and a firm pedaling platform;
Nimble handling, and feels light while powering up challenging climbs;
Sram X1 1x11 drivetrain is great - it has all the gears you need, is light and easy to maintain, and the shifts are crisp and precise;
XT brakes are fantastic... great feel, noise-free, and plenty of stopping power;
Rockshox Reverb dropper seat post is a great feature at this price point
Cons Fox 32 front fork does not perform well enough to be a proper "match" with the exceptional rear shock
