I loved my 4500 it was my first mountain bike and was able to do anything I wanted. However I used it mostly to get around town.ProsGreat price for an entry level mountain bike.ConsYou might quickly out grow this bike if you actually do a lot of trail riding.
Thank |This bike is best for trails with a lot of flow or slow technical trails. I would not recommend for fast technical trails but it could do it just fine. Personally I have another bike for that, that stays more grounded -- a lil heavier. If you can find one and youre new to this sport, buy it.
Pros
Nice and light frame with good front shocks. This bike is terrific for trails with a lot of flow, is very versatile in rough terrain, and will easily come off the ground when confronted with a nice jump. Lastly, on smooth trails this bike rides super smooth, like feather smooth, that was its selling point for me. This was my first mtb and I ate it up.
Cons
Thank |Not a very good climber, even with the seat at the right height I still had to stand up a lot or lose my balance on steep grade flat low gear climbs. At high speeds when going over rough terrains the bike tends to get a little turbulent, aka bounce up and down off the ground.
I like this bike and keep it for almost 4 years now.
Thank |yes great bike to start mtbing with
Pros
light, durable, awesome ride
Cons
Thank |front derailleur, suspension is a tad bit mushy but that's it
I'd buy it again!. I'm 6'1" and weigh 230lbs... I beat the hell out of mine... And have only had to have a new cassette/chain... I take it up and down falcon trail in co springs every week and it still holds up
Pros
Lightweight, inexpensive, durable
Cons
Thank |Cassette went pretty quickly, no disc brakes (it is setup for them... So maybe a used set off Craigslist)
Pros
Frame is light
Cons
Thank |All components are cheap, but it is a 500 dollar bike
This was my first mountain bike and I've been riding it hard for a year now. I'm 6 foot tall and not a lightweight at all and it has held up wonderfully.
Pros
price, strength, component quality
Cons
Thank |uncomfortable seat
its a great entry level bike good for any one just getting into the sport but if you are hard on equipment maybe you need something more expensive
Pros

Cons
Thank |ive owned the bike since may of this year 09 and i have gone through 3 freewheel hubs a cassette one i am still waiting for to be covered under warranty its been three months
my first quality bike, you pay what you get for. just proper maintenance and check ups on frame, it should last for a while. But desire to upgrade soon...ProsStrong Frame, smooth ride, suspension has adjustment and lock feature, good for price.Consgear change "clunks" as far as seating... I've seen worse, but with padding in shorts, theres no problem.
Thank |buy if u want a hard tail thats pretty light

Cons
