I good "get you up to speed on Idaho riding, but realize there'll be much missing and a lot of road rides listed.

This is an OK book that covers the a variety of trails around Idaho.

Although this is a statewide book, there is still too much missing re: classic singletrack. Too many dirt road rides listed in here, rather than singletrack.

It depends on what kind of riding you do. If you do family type riding, tour, type mountain biking or if you're just getting into riding, this is a great book. For me, someone who is looking for a specific type of riding and more adventurous single track, I would skip it, and save your money.

I've met Stephen Stuebner (writer) and he's great, he knows a lot about Idaho mountain biking but he speaks and writes for an older generation of riders. The only problem is, he's the best thing out right now. There isn't someone out there writing for the thrill seekers, the free riders the extreme downhillers, or just someone who describes trails in a way that will excite a rider. Under the age of 40.

It has a bunch of trail reviews
I like how the index has the trails listed by area
It also has an index in the back that showes the trails by what type they are.

Old Black and white picks that show a rock or a fence or a creek and the maps are lines on a blank sheet, doesn't really give a good idea of where the trail is exactly over the top of a more detailed map.
