Model/Year: 2013 with 120 Fork

Pros: Great climbing; very balanced; quick handling for tight single track. 120mm travel is great. Only had it 3 months but very pleased.

Cons: Some creaks -- need to maintain. Be careful of fit. Better cable routing.

Recommendation: For intended purpose, this is a superb ride. Great XC characteristics with 120mm travel as a bonus.

Pros: Awesome suspension, super versatile, very light

Cons: Price?

Recommendation: Fantastic do-it-all 29er trail bike that can lean towards the XC and towards the AM as well. Stay tuned for my write up on the blog.

Model/Year: 2013 Ibis Ripley 29er

Pros: Fast, efficient, light (26lb large w/ easton haven wheels) and nimble.

Cons: Pricey
Needs an adjustable seat post.

Recommendation: Demo'd the bike for a weekend. If you like riding all types of terrain fast it's a great bike. Very efficient and will save your legs so you can ride the really long, epic rides. Pedaling efficiency is great. This bike attacks and maintains momentum - especially transitioning from bomber descent to climbs. Great for varied and flowy terrain.
