Do you own an electric mountain bike?

It's been two years since we last asked about electric mountain bike ownership. Tell us whether you own an eMTB and how that has changed.

Ten years ago, in 2016, we asked Singletracks readers if they owned an electric mountain bike. Less than 1% said yes. The next year, in 2017, the number inched up to just 1.2%.

We didn’t ask again until 2024. That year, a whopping 24% of you said an eMTB was your only mountain bike and another 44% told us they owned at least one eMTB in addition to your regular mountain bikes. (That leaves about 32% of respondents who didn’t own an electric mountain bike, based on 6,000 total responses.)

Of course this isn’t scientific; Singletracks readers aren’t quite representative of mountain bikers overall (you’re obviously smarter and better looking!) and there was likely some bias in who decided to click on the survey in the first place.

Now it’s been two years and we want to know how electric mountain bike ownership has changed.
