After receiving final permit approval from the Forest Service, registration for the Durango Big Mountain Enduro race, June 28-29, is now open!
Here’s how BME describes the race:
The Durango Enduro is not for the timid; it is a true backcountry event that will require riders to have moderate to excellent fitness and great bike handling skills on steep, technical terrain at high altitudes. Each of our multiple stages will have a distinct flavor and showcase the finest riding in Durango. Over the course of racing two days, the second stop of the 2014 Big Mountain Enduro will be all about big descents in the high alpine. Shuttles will be provided for participants each morning in order to affectively transport riders to the best Enduro trails surrounding Durango. Expect 3-4 big stages and elevations topping out above 12,200 feet.
While most of the Big Mountain Enduro races are spaced about a month apart, the Durango event follows right on the heels of the Snowmass event, taking place the next weekend. One thing is certain: it’s going to be a busy couple of weeks of riding, traveling, and racing!
