New Bontrager Jet WaveCel Brings Helmet Safety Tech to Kids

Bontrager has a new WaveCel bike helmet for kid-size craniums.

More kids are home from school right now, and they want to venture out and explore their local neighborhoods and trails. Bontrager has now extended many of the benefits and technologies from their adult helmets to kids’ lids, to keep young peoples’ heads as protected as possible.

The recently released Jet WaveCel helmets include the brand’s WaveCel lining that Bontrager claims is “a leading technology in the protection against cycling-related head injuries.” Bontrager also adds that the helmet “meets ASTM standards, whose tests use a smaller mass headform more realistic to younger riders.”

Like adult helmets, the Jet also comes with a fit adjustment system, Fidlock magnetic latching strap, and removable and washable inner padding. Unlike adult lids, the Jet comes with a pack of stickers.

Jet WaveCel helmets are available now for $99.99 on the Trek Bikes website. The helmets come in four colors, and fit heads from 48-52cm.
