The women’s bike apparel brand Machines for Freedom has a new filmmaker grant, made for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) that will offer up to $2,000 for grantees.
“Filmmakers will have the option of being paired with an advisor for one-on-one support in bringing the film concept to screen. Films granted through this program will be reviewed by the Filmed by Bike Festival Jury, an annual panel of bike and film lovers, and final films will be presented in the Annual Filmed by Bike Festival in May of 2021 and subsequently go on tour around the world.”
Filmmakers can have the opportunity to be paired with an advisor for support with their film concept. The films will be reviewed by the Filmed by Bike Festival Jury.
Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who are emerging filmmakers are encouraged to apply. No experience is necessary. All of the projects must be centered around cycling. The applications are due by December 1, 2020, and films that are completed by April 1, 2021 will be shown in the Filmed by Bike’s 2021 festival. All films must be completed by December 31, 2021.
