Asheville, NC –

Cane Creek Cycling Components has announced the release of a brand new, elastomer suspended suspension fork.

The new fork, named the HELM-O LT, is based on patented parallel link technology popularized in the company’s classic Thudbuster LT suspension seatpost, sports 76mm of travel and is designed to fit a 700c, 29” or 27.5+ wheel with up to a 4” tire.

The HELM-O LT is designed to cater to the modern adventure, touring, bikepacking and gravel market where geometry, specs and usage can vary widely from bike to bike.

“People are going out into the woods on all kinds of crazy bikes these days,” said Sam Anderson, product manager for Cane Creek. “Fat tire rigid bikes, modified touring bikes, wide tire endurance bikes, drop bar mountain bikes… the list goes on. We wanted to make a fork that was really versatile and dependable to meet the needs of these riders.”

The HELM-O LT uses a series of elastomers working in parallel to absorb shocks from the trail and road. The elastomers come in three levels of firmness and are completely interchangeable creating an unprecedented level of tunability previously unseen in elastomer suspended forks.

“The development process was really simple actually. We just took two Thudbuster LT’s, flipped them over and then, bam, you’ve got a fork,” said Jeff LaForge, design engineer for Cane Creek. “The engineers all thought it looked kind of funny but, once we put it on our Marketing Director’s bikepacking bike, we realized it fit right in.”

The HELM-O LT is available for purchase beginning in April through Cane Creek retailers and distributors as well as factory direct at www.canecreek.com. An ST version of the fork is not available at this time but is in development and will be released in the future.
