A full 75% of the funds will go to the Marin Trail Fund to help pay for singletracks like the Easy Grade Trail on Mount Tam.
The iconic Easy Grade trail was originally built by the CA Conservation Corps in 1935 to access Mount Tamalpais, perhaps the most iconic peak in the entire Bay Area and the birthplace of mountain biking. This trail is prohibited to bikes, forcing bikers to navigate the highly trafficked and shoulderless Pantol Highway. State Parks has approved the change in use of the trail to allow bikes, and has approached the bike community to help fundraise to contribute to the over $400,000 in expected costs. Closing the funding gap will allow State Parks to proceed with permits and construction, connecting yet another piece of our access puzzle in Marin and taking us one step closer to a more connected network.

The remaining 25% of the cash will used to support the recently minted California Mountain Biking Coalition to improve mountain biking throughout the state.
