Ironton, Missouri is about to get rad.

Earlier this month a groundbreaking ceremony took place on a major project to bring mountain bike trails to 800 acres of city-owned property which boasts an impressive 600 feet of elevation gain from the base to the peak. The town hopes the trails will draw mountain bikers from all around the midwest, especially the St. Louis area which is about 90 miles away.

Shepherd Mountain Bike Park (Spring 2021)

The #mobileMTBshed took a trip down to the Arcadia Valley to catch up with Dave from GORC Gravity while he works to complete a climbing trail up the 600’ mountain. Big thanks to the City of Ironton and Shepherd Mountain Bike Park for giving us a tour of the property on the future Shuttle vehicle for the park. The City has been working hard alongside professional builders Jagged Axe Trail Designs to open the park in 2021. (RIDER: Klinton Silvey, the guy getting things rolling on the MTN)We got to take in the community and culture of the Arcadia Valley. We ate at great restaurants and visited local hotels/hostiles. The community of Ironton is excited about the park and is getting prepared for visitors in the Spring of 2021. Local business people are setting up bike stations, new cabins, and other unique accommodations for MTBrs coming to town.-#makeparty #shepherdmtbpark #mtbmo #mtbshed #mountainbikepark #mountainbike

Plans include a road for shuttle operations and the trails should be open year round thanks to the mild climate. With construction under way, the park hopes to be open sometime in 2021.
