Norco Rampage Dirt Jumper New for 2020

Photos: Norco

Hot off the mountain bike press is Norco’s newest rendition of their dirt jumper, the Rampage. Smaller bikes have delineated into BMX, dirt jumpers, and slopestyle categories, but with the Rampage, Norco wanted to do it all with one frame.

The Rampage is an aluminum-framed, 26-inch bike with a 100mm fork on the front to take the edge off of hard landings. It comes specced with 2.3-inch wide tires, 3-piece cranks, sealed hub bearings, and disc brakes.

The Rampage will be sold in a few variations. A frame only will sell for around $449USD. The Team model with a Pike fork, Spank wheels, and a SRAM Guide T rear brake will sell for around $2,399USD.

There are also two lower end build options with the Rampage 1 and Rampage 2 that will sell for around $1,449USD and $899USD. The Rampage comes in S, M, and L sizes.

New wheelsets from UK brand HUNT

British wheel brand HUNT released three new wheelsets: an aluminum XC wheelset, an aluminum DH wheelset, and an $800 carbon all-mountain wheelset.

The HUNT All-Mountain Carbon H Impact wheelset is available in 27.5- and 29-inch diameters, with a 28mm internal rim width, and has a lifetime crash replacement warranty. The H Impacts benefit from feedback by professional downhill athletes and in-house impact testing.

The front and rear wheels have different layups, as the front is made to handle more vibration and better damping. It is also a 28h spoke count. The rear wheel is a 32h spoke count and gets extra material for better impact strength. The RapidEngage hubs feature a 3-degree engagement.

HUNT’s Downhill Privateer wheelset is an aluminum wheelset with performance and affordability in mind. The sidewalls are thick, the front and rear get 32h and 36h spoke counts respectively, and the internal width is spaced at 26mm. The Downhill Privateer wheels also have the HUNT 3-degree RapidEngage hubs. The DH wheels sell for $430.

Lastly, the Race XC Wide wheels are a sub-1,500g wheelset with a 24mm internal width, made of 6069-T6 alloy. They feature 5-degree RapidEngage hubs and sell for $470.

Ride Concepts continues to roll out strong shoe options for gravity-minded mountain bikers, or those who want a more casual look.

The Powerline and Skyline are flat pedal shoes with fully gusseted tongues to blocks dirt and rocks from getting into socks. Both feature a D3O impact reducing insole and medial collar. There is also a rubber toe cap and heel protection on the Powerline, which sells for $150. The Powerline is the men’s version, and the Skyline features a women’s specific fit.

The Transition and Traverse are new clipless shoes from Ride Concepts, made for hard, daily abuse. They’re similar to the Powerline, but with a cleat box, and a velcro strap covering the top of the shoe. The Transition also gets a D3O guarded medial collar and insole, and the RC PowerDrive full-length molded nylon shank. The Transition and Traverse both sell for $160. The Transition is a men’s fit and the Traverse a women’s.

The Ride Concepts TNT.

The TNT is a men’s flat pedal downhill shoe, with similar features to the others, like a D30 protected insole and medial collar, but it is beefed up a bit, as it is a downhill specific shoe. The TNT keeps laces protected and tucked away with a velcro strap over the top of the shoe. The TNT will sell for $160.
