Giro had some very cool gear on display at Interbike, with some different colors as well as some bright motifs.
Pictured above is the new Cypher helmet. Available in no less than 7 color ways, the new Cypher is aimed towards the freerider to enduro racer. Unlike the Remedy, the Cypher has a compact, lightweight shape. Putting it side by side with the Remedy, you can see some much needed improvements here. For one big thing, the Cypher has a custom moulded gasket for the front and near the back of the lid, compared to a dated cut and glued surround. Venting is designed around 8 large vents and brow ports for efficient cooling.
Like the Bell Full9, the Cypher gets an integrated helmet mount good for GoPro, or Contour. Others can be fitting, but I cannot confirm the brands. TuneUps™ audio speaker pockets with O-Snap™ cord management is another neat feature for those who enjoy listening to tunes while riding. You now have a no hassle, easy way to instal speakers in your helmet. On the safety side of things, I liked the double “D” ring padded straps and removable cheek straps, for added safety and ease of removal in case of disaster.
That wasn’t all that Giro had. As you can see above, Giro was full of bright ideas, with a grab bag of gear all ready for high visibility. All kidding aside, Giro introduced some new colorways on the lids, and matching clothing and shoes.
The all-new Terraduro shoe is ideal for those who really mix things up in the enduro scene. The Terraduro is your all-mountain racer shoe that combines a molded shank with a flexible forefoot for walking.
Using Vibram in the sole gives you a good combination of grip and traction. A full molded surround to the boot adds support and durability to the double strap and single locking strap upper sole.
