DT Swiss has taken their 1501 Spline One series of wheels and expanded the number of rim widths offered. No matter what your discipline is or what tire size you want to run, there is an option for you.
Within the 1501 series, DT Swiss has three different rim classifications. For cross country, there is the XR series; the all mountain rims are XM; and the EX rims are intended for enduro. All the wheelsets are built around DT’s 240s hubs, with 28 DT Comp straight pull spokes, laced three cross. Most, but not all, configurations are available in 27.5″ and 29″ sizes.
At the narrow end, DT offers a 22.5mm internal rim in both XR and XM configurations. A pair of 27.5″ XR wheels comes in at 1,480g, while the XM versions come in at 1,555g for the set. Retail price for both sets is the same, though, at $1,200.
The XM series is also available in 25, 30, 35, and 40mm widths. The EX series is available in either 25 or 30mm widths. Prices for the XM wheels range from $1,200 to $1,300 depending on width, while the EX range from $1,236 to $1,260.
