Hey Dozzer, it’s a small world, I shop at freeflite on Roswell Rd. and ride with Sean one of thier employees on Sunday mornings at blankets, it’s becoming an every week ride and the group is growing every week. Let me know if you want to join us sometime and I might be able to find a way to pick you up as my brother lives in Acworth.

Going out to Chicopee Sat. if anyone is interested, also sunday we have started a ride at 8:30am at Blankets usually riding dwelling and VMT. Look for my bro Jr. he’ll be the one with the kneehigh socks and the beard can’t miss him. If you see us having a brew post ride stop by and say hey! 😄

Thanks for your input everyone, I will take it all in to consideration. Just went into my LBS and almost walked out with a new bike but my wife would probably have kicked me out so I thought it better to wait. I will ride my bike till next summer and get a few different demos in then I can make a more informed decision. I might even try a full suss 29er 😉 Although I will probably stick with a 26.

Yeah Steve I actually live just outside of cumming and I’ve been into Reality so I will check them out and see what they have in my price range thanks.

Thanks for the tips, so many decisions 😏 Well I have some time to think about it probably won’t buy for a bit but definitly gonna demo the Trek and the Giant. Been looking at that Trek for awhile but we’ll see. Need to find a LBS that carries Specialized to demo one. What about Jamis or Santa Cruz?

Good to have another mountain biker out there. The bike doesn’t make as much of a difference as to whos riding it, you can go out and blow $7k on a bike and still get smoked by somebody on a bike they got for $200 off craigslist. Take it slow at first and learn how your body and the bike work together, don’t try anything your not comfortable with. You should be okay at big creek I ride there fairly often and its not too tough some rock gardens and rooty sections on the more advanced trails but you don’t have to ride those if you don’t feel comfortable yet. If your looking for somebody to ride with let me know I live in Cumming and ride with my brother and a coworker often at Big Creek, Blankets, Chickopee, etc… Best sport on earth! Just remember, always have fun with it over time you will get better.

No offense, but why would you want to ride a wet trail? This is one reason why trails are being closed. No good comes to a trail traveled when wet, unless it is a real hardpack trail.

I understand not to ride trails when wet, what I was looking for was info on FS roads or other rides that are okay after a rain such as this morning.

Thanks Goo, I try and adhere to the 24 hr. rule but with my work schedule I don’t have many opportunities to get out and ride. People do say it okay to ride FS roads after a rain, I was thinking about Jasus creek today.
