My girlfreind came home with 2 next fs 18 speed bikes. Wanting to get back into
riding. I know, inexpensive, low quality but it works. We are out riding having fun
and making plans. We are in our late 40’s early 50,s. Ride city bike paths, graval, dirt, logging roads,in
Oregon. Non technacal stuff.Mostly flat or downhill.I have a Royce Union fsa 100 from the 90,s.
Aluminum V or y type frame, full suspension. Picked up another fsa 100 for my
girlfreind. For $20. Both need drivetrain components.I like the frames and would like to add inexpensive 52t-50t triple cranksets.
7speed 11t cassette, chain, bottombracket derailers,..ect. Durablity for the
price. They have Shimano derailers. If they still work. One back one missing.
They are 21 speed, 42tx?x? front and 13txxx? 7cassette rear.
I’m thinking more speed for our type of riding. Along with better quality of
components.I need to replace the scram gripshifters. Im thinking with Shimano E-F51,s
shifter/brake lever combo. Bars are straight and tapered. Thinner at the
grips.Once I get them rolling. I want to get a shorter steering stem 2+ inches.
step up ? bars to be able to move our weight back on the bikes.Possibly get a RST single shock fork to replace the stock suspension.
I,ve searched the web. Not much about Royce Union FSA bikes, or compatible
parts. I have little knowledge of bike specs,or compatibility. I did read that
it takes 120mm bottom bracket.Thank you in advance for your imput.
