Tag Along for 29er

I have an old Alley Cat Tag Along bike trailer, that was designed to fit a 26er….Unfortunately the Tag Along does not fit on my 29’er, and wondering if anyone has any luck or advice "retrofitting" one of these units to fit on a 29’er. I am trying to avoid buying a new/used one. I would to like hear from anyone that has tried by either purchasing/adding on some sort of extension piece.
