Shimano XT brake lever axle rises out

      I have new Shimano XT brake levers (model BL-M770).

      As I use it, the lever axle slowly comes up. That’s the small chrome bar that provides the axle for the lever itself, where the spring is. After about a day’s worth of braking, the axle sticks out about a quarter-inch.

      So I push it back in with my finger. My fear is it would fall out and the whole lever arm would fall off.

      But this can’t be right. What’s wrong with it?

      It looks there is a set screw that secures that. Have a look here:

      I looked at that diagram too. But there doesn’t seem to be any adjustment I can make.

      The axle’s fully in when I push it down, and there’s no feeling of a click to indicate it’s engaged with the locking ring.

      Does anyone have experience with this??
