potential for a new trail Lafayette Indiana area

So I was riding at prophetstown state park indiana today, and came across a nice area for a mtb trail. They currently do not offer a designated mtb trail. Only some short walking trails. I found some deer paths and followed a couple of miles and was really impressed on how much fun I had. So I was thinking about talking to the land manager to get permission on starting some trail work. If anyone is near the Lafayette, Indiana area and would like to volunteer with me and a friend of mine that would be great. let me know.
