Today, while riding, my bike died. My beloved 15 year old Trek 4500 bit the dust. Usually I wouldn’t care if my bike died, but this was my first MTB. So many crashes, memories and triumphs on that bike. But immediately after I got home, I took it apart. Being my first MTB, most of the parts were lower quality and 15 years old so I through them out. I hung up the frame on my wall, right next to where I am sitting right now. Farewell, old buddy, we had a great run.

My condolences, sorry for your loss.

Do you have another bike you can ride or is it time to go shopping?

Yes I have another bike. Time to make some new memories!

I just got another 4500 frame off of ebay for $70! I like this model a lot because using the 20mm rule I can slap a 100mm fork on it. Also it was made for discs or v-brakes! I’ll just take out the garbage bag with the old parts out of the garbage bin, then just slap them on the new one coming. Only cost me $70.
