I suppose I got lucky I didn’t break my eye socket let alone rip up my eye. My Oakleys proved their worth today.

Details dude, what and how did it happen???That looks like a close call, good thing you did have the oakkleys on……I’ve had a couple close calls with the eyes before too, happened in breckenridge colorado, there are some pretty tightly lined trees on some trails up there and the branches stick out right at eye level, been thinking I’ll get some glasses to wear too….

I was riding Hurricane Creek Park for the day and I had just finished up for the day. I was riding back out the park and it’s fairly tricky getting in and out because the only trail that leads into the park runs along the canyon.

Well I’m tearing along not thinking because I’m pumped about a the good ride and I forget about this rock feature that sticks out partially over the trail. Going roughly about 15mph and clip my right shoulder on it. I get instantly thrown from my back and end up about 20 feet down into the canyon and which point a tree stops my tumbling decent.

Unfortunately I tried to use my face as a brake and the tree was all but happy to oblige the winning hit. Amazingly nothing broken, didn’t black out, and hell it didn’t hurt except for my eye. All in all pretty lucky!
