I just moved to Colorado last summer…I rode up through the end of November and conditions were fantastic. Now that we’ve had a few days in the 60s I’m starting to get really ancy to hit some trails however I went hiking the past weekend on the front range and the trail was a mud pit. I was wondering when do some of the lower elevation front range trails start to dry up?

It depends on where you are, but, in general, I would say things should start getting pretty good in mid-April. Just be aware that some places have less mud than others, so try to hit areas that have a lot of decomposed granite. Those areas will be rideable sooner. Until then, if you really want to ride dry trails then head to Lake Pueblo. It is dry most all winter, and a lot of fun too.
