Under the circumstances, race organizers have called off the race and are working to notify competitors currently out on the course. This was the first running of the Indian Pacific Wheel Race, which started in Perth on March 18.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Mike’s family and friends during this time of shocking tragedy. We’ll update this story with additional details once we receive them.
