KLUNKERZ will screen at the Newport Beach Film Festival at the Edwards Island Cinemas on April 22nd at 3:30 pm. The film is about a group of friends in Marin County whose passion for cycling created a worldwide sensation. There’s interviews with all the pioneers, rare photographs, and some great vintage road racing and MTB footage, most of which has never been seen before. The film was nominated for ‘Best Documentary’ and ‘Emerging Filmmaker’ awards at X-Dance, and won the ‘Jury Commendation’ award at the Durango Independent Film Festival. Come see how these hippie/athletes created a multi-billion dollar business, a form of recreation for the masses, and an Olympic sport. They literally re-invented the wheel.
