Another month, and another fresh batch of mountain bike trails to enjoy! The Heartland is well represented this time around, along with new mountain bike trail openings in Colorado and Oregon.

Mount Nebo State Park (Dardanelle, AR)
Slow down Arkansas, some states are bound to get jealous! The trails at Mount Nebo State Park are part of the state’s Monument Trails program, and Phase 1 opened July 27, 2019 with 7 miles of singletrack. The newly opened section is called the Chickalah Loop trail. Currently, Hobbs State Park Conservation Area claims the only other Monument Trail in Arkansas, though more are set to open in the future.
The Mount Nebo tails were made possible in part through a $500K+ grant from the Walton Family Foundation.

Brookside (Ashland, OH)
This wooded, 3.5-mile trail is located in a forested area just outside the town of Ashland, OH. The trail system, which opened to the public on July 20, 2019, is accessible to mountain bikes and class 1 electric mountain bikes as well.
On the Rocks (Masonville, CO)
On the Rocks is a new addition to the popular Bobcat Ridge riding area located southwest of Fort Collins. It’s a one-way, downhill trail that takes riders through a challenging boulder field, making it an advanced-level trail. The trail officially opened July 21, 2019 and work was spearheaded by the Overland Mountain Bike Association.
Mount Airy Forest (Cincinnati, OH)
In July the first 1.4-mile trail in Mount Airy Forest opened to riders, with another 4-6 miles of singletrack planned for the future. Trail construction was supported by the Cincinnati Off Road Association (CORA).
Klootchy Creek (Astoria, OR)
Bermstyle has a great writeup about the trails at Klootchy Creek, and judging by the photos, this is a fun one! Officially opened July 20, and built with support from North Coast Trail Alliance, GreenWood Resources, and Clatsop County Parks, Klootchy Creek claims 12 miles of bike trails, making it one of the biggest debuts of the month.
Revelstoke Mountain, 5620 Trail (Revelstoke, BC)
Revelstoke Mountain is offering mountain bike uplifts for the first time this year, and to celebrate they’re opening a new trail called 5620. The 15km (9 mile) trail descends 5,620 feet, hence the name.
Quemahoning Reservoir (Hollsopple, PA)
The Laurel Highlands On & Off Road Bicycling Association has been working for years to get trails opened at Quemahoning Reservoir. Phase 1 is said to offer a whopping 17 miles of trails, and hopes are high to add onto that in the future.
Blacksburg Rotary Mountain Biking Skills Park (Blacksburg, VA)
Blacksburg Rotary park features seemingly endless lines for mountain bikers of all abilities to enjoy and use to learn new skills. Located at the edge of Jefferson National Forest, the brand new skills park serves as a gateway to some of the best mountain biking the area has to offers.
