New Juliana Quincy Gravel Bike and Updated Santa Cruz Sigmata

New gravel bikes from Juliana and Santa Cruz are ready to join you on long off road adventures.

The product teams at Juliana and Santa Cruz Bicycles are well versed in crafting bikes for various trail adventures, and their offerings are now growing into the gravel road scene. Check out the newly baked Quincy, and redesigned Stigmata below.

Juliana Quincy

Juliana is marketing the all-new Quincy as a gravel or cyclocross bike with clearance for 700x45mm or 27.5×2.1″ tires, and the bike appears poised for either job. Each of the five build options is equipped with a single chainring, and the frame will accept a clamp-on front derailleur if you feel the need to double up.

  • Full carbon fiber frame
  • Sizes: 49cm, 52cm, 54cm
  • Hidden fender mounts
  • Three water bottle mount locations

The Quincy’s adventure details are not limited to tire clearance and a simple 1X drivetrain. The bikes have three water bottle mounts, and hidden fender mounts to keep you hydrated and mostly mud free. The handlebar widths are varied according to size, with a 38cm width on size 49cm, and a 40cm bar on the 52cm and 54cm frames. Like all other Juliana bikes, the Quincy takes a threaded bottom bracket, icing on the cake for any home mechanics who love riding gravel. Each build includes some powerful disc brakes to make your hands happy on long, sloping grades.

Santa Cruz Stigmata

The Santa Cruz Stigmata cyclocross bike was re-released in 2015 and has since taken numerous riders to the top step of those muddy podiums. According to Santa Cruz, this most recent version’s “significantly revised carbon layup borrows knowledge gained from not just the Highball, but also Danny MacAskill’s trials bike, to produce a ride so law-abiding you’d think HR had sent it on a compliance training course.”

Like the Juliana Quincy above, the cyclocross/gravel Stigmata clears 700x45mm or 27.5x 2.1″ tires, and all bikes come equipped with 1X drivetrains and options for a front derailleur if you so desire. The redesigned frame includes all the same water bottle and fender mounts as the Quincy, and both bikes have front and rear through-axle hubs to keep things stiff and secure.

To enhance the handling characteristics for each frame size Santa Cruz has optimized the frames’ head tube angles (HTA) and fork offset measurements. Size 52cm frames have a 71° HTA, 54cm frames lean up to 71.5°, and the three larger sizes have 72° head tubes. Slacker HTA measurements on the smaller frames might minimize some toe-overlap. Size 52cm and 54cm frames have a 50mm fork offset, and all larger frames use a 45mm offset fork.
