Trail Description
About this trail
This is a great playground for mountain bikes right on the edge of town. There is both traditional singletrack and slickrock everywhere. There are stunt opportunities galore and some impressive exposure over the cliffs. The trail that parallels closest to the highway is mostly smooth while the trail that runs lower along the rocks is more advanced. There are countless lines between the two and alternate braids that seek different challenges, keeping the ride fresh. Just go out and explore.

Review: A network of trails along the bluffs with generally more technical features as you drop lower from the edge. Be aware of a lot of broken glass in the accessible upper stretches. Fantastic views of Billings.

Review: It is a pretty fun trail, and it is the main place I go and ride. Most of the time, the trails are very easy, but some parts are difficult and fun to try and conquer. The trails are somewhat short though, and it is very windy sometimes.

Review: So many options!! You can ride easy or go all out and have an exhilarating workout. The views from the top of the rims are beautiful. We will be back with a bigger brave....some of the trails were too close to the edge this time.

Review: A fun trail to kill some time on. I think we got about 7 miles in just exploring the trails. Not much shade and it gets pretty hot ridding around all those rocks. Nothing in the way of signage so your on your own, you can't get lost so go explore, a few dead end trails do exist out there. The trails up at top are pretty mild, the ones down around the rocks can be technical in places.

Review: Excellent trail(s) with a wide variety of skill levels. It's easy to get into intermediate or difficult areas. Connects with a longer trail along airport road.

Review: Calling this a trail doesn't do it much justice. From Zimmerman park there are a couple of trails running east/west along the rim. If you go east you will eventually come to Zimmerman road, which you can cross and continue riding all the way to the airport. This section is pretty flat and non technical with lots of broken glass. I would recommend heading west instead, where the trail comes to an end at a neighborhood. At this point, head north along the singletrack until you hit the gap in the fence, leading to the neighborhood road. From there, travel north along the road for ~1/2 mile and go over the little cattle guard. From here, explore your options on "the back 9", a system of decently technical trails that seem to be never ending. Enjoy!

Review: I have had the chance to ride this trail four times and I continue to find new trails. This is a very fun trail system with lots of variety. The nice thing about this trail is that there is a lot of different difficulty level trails to ride. It has been fun for my girlfriend and me to each ride trails that challenge us. I recommend going across Zimmerman trail road (to the east) and following the rim to the airport. There is only one (fairly non technical) trail this way but amazing views! I agree with the other reviews that this trail could use a better map and trail marking system but it is fun to explore and find your own route. Highly recommended!

Review: I rated this trail 4 stars because it could use some improvements, like directional signs and maps. And a lot of broken glass on the ground. Other then that the trail is awesome. A great combination of dirt, slickrock and a little sand. Breathtaking views of Billings below.

I went to the right from parking until houses, turn around and kept riding along the edge of the cliff.

Was a bit tricky to find where trail crosses Zimmerman Rd.

After I passed Airport there was a nice descent into Billings. There trail must continue but I didn't find it. So, this out-and-back was around 14 miles. There's even more trail after the houses but I hadn't enough time to explore whole thing.

Overall super fun trail and will ride it again (with full-suspension bike).
