Mountain Biking Zappa Trails

  Add a review
#16 of 1,379 mountain bike trails in British Columbia
#2,038 in the world

Alot of the trails in this network are named after Frank Zappa Songs. It is a good place to get used to the area and some of the rides around here. Small log bridges, rocks, and roots to navigate. The technical areas are good for starting and most of a resonably safe exit if you can't make it.
The trails also tend to cross a number of major paths. You'll need to keep looking to make sure you stay on the single track and not to miss any of the fun.

The Zappa Trails are located in Lost Lake Park. This trail system includes trails such as:
Tommy Moore
Hydro Hill
Hydro Cut
Gee I Like Your Pants
Old Mill Road
Tommy Moore
Elephant Bridge
Ms Pinky
Soap & Old Cloths

A good sized area of trails. Many wide, easy and family friendly roads (for XC skiing in winter) cross the area.
Then, between main trails are singletrack thought the forest - containing rocks, roots and man made bridges. Quite challenging at times.

The trail network is a bit difficult to navigate, with ski and bike signs being intermingled but not always present at all junctions.
A good starting route is to follow the orange diamonds of the "suggested route".

This is one of my all time favorite trail networks! It has many trails ranging from difficult to easy. Evey singletrack crosses the main fire roads at least every mile so if you do not like the trail, you can ride the fire road for a few seconds and almost instantly find another trail! And I have been riding for a while now all over southern California(I know, no where near Whistler, thats where I go for vacations) and I have never seen views as beutiful as Whistler's!

This is a great intermediate trail for Whistler. It has a great mix of technical climbs and decsents, ladder bridges and skinnies, and buff swoopy sections. The trail can be a fast 30 to 40 minute ride from end to end or a 2 hour ride depending on how you connect the trails together within Lost Lake Park. Every year the trail network gets better in Lost Lake Park because more sections are added by the municipality's trail builders.
