Review: Nothing technical but still gave 5 stars because of length, scenery, hills (climbing) and camping options. Yes hills in Iowa! 1800 vertical on a 17 miles ride. Well laid out, wide trails, flowy when you're not climbing.

Review: Awesome trails! My friend and I camped at the Star Field Campground and biked 38 miles in two days. This is the third year we've gone, and the trails are better every summer!

Review: Amazing singletrack in central Iowa! Big props to CITA - the group that maintains the miles and miles of trails here.

They have great facilities spread around the park - water, toilets, showers, etc. Would be a great place to camp for a weekend and just ride.

I was referred here by family members while visiting the Des Moines area. I wound up entering from the "Star Compound" (very southern end of the park). I entered through Little Dipper/Big Dipper, down Shooting Star, across the road, and up Long Creek Trail, down 805, along Riverside back across the road and then up Shooting Star and the dippers.

Great ride through the woods and along the river. Nothing technical here. Some climbs, but generally nothing more than 30 yards before you get a flat or little downhill flow. There are a number of creek crossings (all fairly short and nothing deep) and there are multiple sandy-washouts on the trail that may catch you by surprise. Most of these are relatively short (maybe 10 yards).

I'd like to rate this higher. For what the park has in miles and flow, it lacks in technical items - berms, drops, rocks. Having said that, if I lived local, this would be the spot I would ride. Good variety. Nice trails. Good facilities. For more details and a park map, check this link: http://whiterockconservancy.org

Review: This fairly new gem in Iowa is so much fun to ride I would give it 6 stars if possible. The facilities are top notch and the trails are beautifly constructed. These trails let you enjoy some of the most gorgeous land in the state. You will NOT be disappointed.

Review: Best singletrack experience in Iowa that I've had. Several miles of great flowing trails in the Raccoon River Valley. Plenty of climbing with plenty of great descents. Whiterock is a beautiful piece of land, a hidden gem really, that I just recently discovered this late summer. My favorite place to ride!

Review: Needs a lot more tires to smooth out the freshly cut trail. Otherwise a pretty nice system for the area. More climbing than any other trail in Iowa. The Riverside trail is a fast and flowy.

Review: The trails here are great! Start out at Star field and its an immediate fast and fun drop into the woods. The trails are not hard but become more fun the faster you ride them. There area lot of climbs but they are worth it with the fun downhill sections. A lot of thought went into the layout of the trails and it makes the downs feel a lot longer and faster than they are. I suggest you take an entire weekend to enjoy the trails here. There's warm showers, real toilets, and fresh drinking water. The camping has nice hidden spots with a fire ring and picnic table. The workers are outstanding and take the time to talk and ask questions about how you are enjoying your time at whiterock. Bottom line, the trails are a ton of fun and this place would be good for the whole family to enjoy a weekend outdoors.
