Trail Description
About this trail
The trail goes north approx 4.5 miles, connects to a loop about 3 miles diameter, and then you head back on the same 4.5 mile trail. Incredible flowing switchbacks, fast descents, and a beautiful rock cliff overlook that you ride along for about 200 yards. Don't look down!

Review: Rode out from Woods Lake Trail Head. Dry and a little dusty. The downhill that ends at Dollar Lake has a downed tree across it, be careful!

Review: The new WFT system trail is open from Wood's Lake Trailhead, around Dollar Lake, along Little Beaver Lake and back to Wood's Lake Trailhead. Great turns and flow as you ride through the trees. The XC group and the MTB GROUP will like this short ride.

Review: Rained today. Left from Lion Mtn trailhead and went to Rainbow lake. Human traffic was light, hikers and bikes. This is not a bike trail for kids. Adults need to be prepared for lots of up and down. The views in the Fall are really nice. This is a trail to put on your list of trails to spend the day on. We were out for about 6 hours. Some roots and shale to work around, but still a great ride.

Review: This series of trails is probably the best designed system I have ridden. There are 3 or 4 trailhead access points with over 30 miles of singletrack. Sweet flowing and not too technical. Great scenery without the lungbusting climbs. For the freeriders there's the Spencer mountain trails with anything you want. All within a few miles of the LBS in downtown Whitefish.

Review: Nice intermediate trail. Section on a cliff was cool. Some good views. I thought it was great that so many people let the trail cross their private property?

Review: I ride the trail several times a week. It's now closer to 17 miles one way. Last summer (2011) they added another 12 miles to the west side of it, and this year they are adding another several miles of trail. There is so much diversity on this trail! cliffs, forest, desert, tough climbs, incredibly fast downhill, burmed hard turns, and it doesn't quite go right to the lake, but less than a mile off the trail on a gravel road is a super nice lake where the dogs can swim. I take my dogs off-leash on this trail all the time and it's just amazing. Has something for everyone. I started on it as a beginner, but there is some tough stuff if you look for it.

Review: Whitefish Trail is a beautifully designed single track that has lots of switchbacks for managable climbing of mountainous terrain and outrageously fun descents!
