I rode Wahlfield once early in the spring and wasn't particularly thrilled by it, but decided to give it another go after the dirt jump & flow track was built in August. I'm glad I did, because it's quickly become one of my favorite trails to ride. The main loop is about 5 miles in length, and rolls generally fast. Elevation changes aren't huge, nor particularly steep, so there's no lung-busting climbs required, and flow is for the most part very good. Be careful in the cornfields, where the trail can be obscured and runoff channels can cause rutting that might send you OTB. Some parts of the trail are very narrow and/or follow a steep ridgeline, so beginners may not be comfortable in some parts.
The dirt jump section is a lot of fun, though, and its an easy way to extend your ride (rather than doubling the main loop, I just spend 30 mins hucking the jumps). This is a unique feature offered at Wahlfield that isn't yet found anywhere else nearby, and makes Wahlfield a really appealing option for any multi-discipline rider.
