Drove north from Ft. Lauderdale just to ride this trail based on reviews on this site. All in all I found it (and the entire San Felasco network) very enjoyable. This is as different from south Florida riding as something could possibly be- no super technical man-made double reds and blacks but plenty of flow, flow, flow. You can roll a lot of miles and get the heart pumping and lactic acid built up in the legs.
It was a Saturday afternoon and we pretty much had the whole place to our selves. We had a post ride chill out on the grassy/prairie like parking area and played some wiffle ball. Its a huge, wide open, scenic area.
The trails were in very good shape, although not well marked in places. It was easy to get lost at times- although also easy to find way out. We were never able to find "Conquistador" although not for lack of looking. A local we ran into did his best to direct us, but even he admitted you have to consider getting lost part of the fun.
This is a fun, satisfying ride. Nothing heart in throat about it, but we get that at Markham all the time, so this was really enjoyable: scenery, flow, mileage, and the few folks we did run into were very friendly. Very enjoyable leg burner where you can log some miles in Florida.
