Mountain Biking San Felasco Hammock Preserve

****   Add a review
#38 of 283 mountain bike trails in Florida
#1,478 in the world

This is the truest XC trail in Florida, lots of distance with continuous gradual up and down grades. The whole trail is fine for anyone with just a little experience from a technical standpoint, when the trail describes beginner, intermediate, or difficult it is referring to the lungs you need to complete the hills. Very enjoyable. The trail is all network and small loops so you can easily ride 3 miles or 30 miles as your heart desires. Park is gorgeous in the trails except a little sun exposure on Tug Nut.

Great Trail system. Plenty of distance and variety. Most of it is fairly easy but there are some sections to challenge you a bit on downhills. Trails are well marked and well traveled.

First part of the trail was nice, but after the midway point over grown. Then I found out why at about half a mile left and there was flooding. Had to turn back around. Other than that good ride.

Great FL ride. Some elevation change but nothing crazy. More xc focused.

The best trail at San Felasco. It flows well, though not as difficult as Conquistador, it is longer with better descents. 8 mile scenic trail that really shows what San Felasco is all about.

Scenic trail in the very back of the San Felasco network. Nothing too technical, but worth riding with other trails in the back.

Mellow trail with gradual elevation change. Can be fun with speed when heading back to main TH.

This is the most challenging trail in the San Felasco system. Constant elevation change makes it a great trail. It is hard due to the steep climbs, but not too technical. This trail is not to be missed, and one of the best in the Gainesville area!

Great trail to take novice riders on in the San Felasco system. It is around 4-5 miles that loops back to the trailhead. Little elevation change, but some roots to keep it interesting.

Tough workout trail! Leg and lung burner for us older guys. Gradual climbs you don't realize you're on at first but the descents are the payoff

Awesome trails that are well marked. Lots of hill climbing on some trails. Feels like you are in the mountains on tug nut. Beautiful scenery.

Great trail to ride. not much Hike a bike at all, rode in December so in the Florida heat of July it may be different. also, it was very dry conditions. A little difficult to navigate but it is also a great place to get lost, there are utility line trails and double-tracks that can lead you back out quickly if plans change. I can highly recommend for all levels. Parking is 4 dollars at the entrance per car or 2 dollars if you arrive on bike or walk in.

A bit more challenging than some of the other sections, but nothing overwhelming. Climbs are lengthened out so they are not too steep. Likewise the DH portions are fun but no drops to be found. Great trail for a fit intermediate rider. Don't let the expert rating keep you off this section.
