Review: They have definitely made good use of the land. Unfortunately, there was a lot of freeze/thaw the day I went, which was not evident until getting into the trails which limited my ride. There were a lot of people rutting it up anyway. Agree with other reviewer that Minneflowta is the best track because of it being a more traditional singletrack flow loop with switchbacks and climbing.

Review: I save my 5 stars for truly epic trails, and while I can't call Tioga 5 stars yet, the potential is there for a great destination in northern Minne. Cuyuna is more established and great flow, but my one small criticism of Cuyuna is general lack of optional features and b-lines. It seems like that will be a focus at Tioga, so I look forward to see how this trail system develops. I see great potential.

Review: Having opened in August of 2019 the Tioga recreation area trail system features 25 miles of singletrack with everything from beginner to advanced riding with XC, flow, tech and even designated jump lines in an old mining area with great scenery and azure blue waters. The trail design here is pretty phenomenal with Minneflowta being my favorite flow trail in the state that isn't a part of an actual bike park. The XC trails have plenty of optional drops and things you can hit for the more experienced rider sprinkled all over which can easily be avoided by beginners. There's also a sand beach at the bottom of the trailhead parking lot that you can take a dip in afterwards if you don't mind Lake Superior level temps. I love Cuyuna, but after one visit I'm pretty sure this is my favorite trail system on the iron range. Bonus points if you can camp out and hit both.
