Trail Description
About this trail
The trails entrances are near the parking area and are pretty easy to find. There are people who walk some of the trails, but there are smaller singletrack trails that run off at certain areas that lead back towards the camp grounds. back in the campground area you will find a gazeebo area called lions gate and a trail that starts off with stairs but turns into a steep singletrack climb, once you reach the ridge the track splits and turns into real ruff terrain( which I think is a hiking trail) but we road it anyway. There are some fast downhills, but be cautious, you may encounter some trees that have fallen. I enjoy it and have ridden it often. It is a great place to enjoy nature and escape the world for awhile.

Review: trails are kept up well. Some paved some not. Good place to learn how to mtb. Some rather technical sections as well.

Review: First it is not a Mt. biking trail. This a good trail for bike riding.Lots of paved trails for easy pedaling and lots of dirt trails for a better mt. biking feel.A good place to learn bike handling skills before getting on real mt. biking trails.

Review: Me and my 15 year old son rode here yesterday, the trails were in great shape. This is our first time here and compared to warrior's path, which we have ridden multiple times isn't quite as technical but there are a few tricky parts. There is one climb that is pretty brutal that overlooks a building next to the park; all in all we will definitely come here again.

Review: "Sugar" has a little bit of riding for everyone. It is a place that you can take a beginner and show them the ropes, or a place where the seasoned can go and really challenge themselves. There are no "man made" obstacles in the park all trails are technical the way nature intended them to be. Fast switchy singletrack with some serious climbs in the back side of the park which lead you to some gnarly downhill sections all of which a littered with roots and baby heads when you least expect them. Maps are available at the white house to the right of the top of the dam, keep in mind this is a growing park there are trails created over the fall that arent on the map and others which are being created now(a new map should be available by summer) and all the difficulty ratings on the map are for HIKERS. Enjoy your ride, and visit often.
