A mountain biker in a red shirt and a helmet is poised on a trail overlooking a valley and distant mountains under a blue sky with clouds. In the foreground, a sign marks the trail, while the landscape features sparse trees and a ski lift in the background. Soul Hole mountain bike trail.

Mountain Biking Soul Hole

*****   Add a review
#114 of 265 mountain bike trails in Montana
#8,488 in the world

Soul Hole is one of the best advanced (black diamond) downhill mountain bike trails on the planet. It starts out as a steep, rocky, rooty, bendy, intensely technical natural-style downhill trail them morphs into a sublime machine-made flow trail with big down swooping bermed corners and loads of take-off sites. The variety is stunning - it's THE complete trail. Nice view from the top too!

This trail is in my top 10 favorite all-time trails. It's an advanced trail that will challenge you and scare you but it won't try to maim you! It's true to its grade - it's top half is steep and almost extreme but never goes over the limit. The variety is great and the flow in the bottom half is fast and exhilarating with great berms and nice air.
