Mountain Biking Shady 80
#185 of 554 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
Has a great pump track area fun and quick single track with a giant hill that you can ride down plenty of options and trails just watch out for mud.

What: Wake Forest is closing Shady 80, the unofficial mountain-bike and walking trails behind Heritage High School.
| ThankWhen: “No Trespassing” signs go up Friday, June 19. Trespassing charges are possible after that.
Who it affects: All users — bikers, hikers and walkers. The Smith Creek/Sanford Creek Greenway nearby stays open.
Why: Heavy electric-dirt-bike use and dirt jumps up to six feet tall. The town calls it a safety and liability decision, not an environmental one.
What’s next: The town points to a planned skate park and pump track near Joyner Park. The board just accepted hospitality-tax money toward it, but there’s no groundbreaking date.
Has some easy and some complex stuff I recommend starting in homestead at heritage there is a entrance then going straight for the fun stuff.
| ThankThis is a hand made trail with several loops you can ride. I would rate it as a beginner with some intermediate options. You can get several miles of riding depending which loops you ride. There are sections with significant roots but there are a few loops with no real obstacles or clearly marked obstacles due the the XC high school team running out here.
