Mountain Biking Salisbury Community Park

*****   Add a review
#88 of 546 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
#1,605 in the world

A resurrection and extension of this trail to 6.7 miles began in April 2012. All singletrack, mostly intermediate with some more difficult areas. Main trail with 7 challenging loops. Good map available . The trail flows very well, you can go fast if desired. No stumps etc. trail regularly maintained to stay clean of weeds, briars etc. Well maintained by volunteers. Dries quickly, you can ride 24 hours after rain. There are some good hills that you let it go and coast up the next. As of 2017, the trail is still being updated and improved, new obstacles are planned.

Trail is now over 10 miles in length with opitonal loops. Jump line recently added, best jump line in this area. Leaves are often blown off of trail in winter. Could stand to be better marked, but overall an excellent intermediate-level trail.

Nice trail! I'm a first timer so I've ridden it twice in two days. Personally no other trails to compare it to but, I really like this trail

I am working in the area and found this trail on Singletracks. I was very pleasantly surprised and sincerely thank those responsible for doing such a great job of maintaining it. I know the continual effort it takes! I took a contractor friend to ride it and he was impressed as well. You just don't expect a "community park" to have such a great trail.

Nice trail. Went with the intention of just riding around on the trails and checking out someplace new and not having to do anything to difficult. Some of the climbs are a little bit steep but nothing that if you put your pedals into it can't be done! Overall a nice trail will definitely be back!

Excellent trail. Main trial is great, optional trails are good. Smooth not too many roots. Few cool drops/downhills. Couple man made jumps. Tough climb at the end.

A good flowing trail in most areas with some fast downhills and intermediate climbs. The trail is mostly free of roots rocks so it makes for a decent beginner trail.

The trail off the gravel road is very difficult and not for the faint of heart. One section is called Humpdy Dumpdy - get ready to go fast and fall easily if your not careful.

I like this trail. It's close to where I live and it's reasonably fun. For mountain bike extremists it might be a little boring but overall it's a good workout with some fun and challenging spots for a novice like myself. I don't think that it flows as well as some have said but in certain sections it does flow very well. It's mostly non-technical singletrack that cuts back and forth with very few obstacles (ie. roots, rocks). It definitely needs some berms in the corners to help you keep your speed up but other than I don't think it needs much else. Some bridges would be awesome. I would be more than willing to help build and add on to the trail if people are interested. Feel free to email me if you'd like to talk about it. My email is [email protected].

In response to the review from January 27th, I believe the reviewer on January 24th literally meant that this was a new trail and needs more traffic to firm up the trail tread, NOT that the trail is too easy. Please take the time to read critically and carefully before responding negatively to another review.
