Review: FYI: There is no water on these trails. Due to the ongoing drought Gov Brown ordered all coastal showers and water fountains shut off. This network of trails offers everything from fire roads to extreme downhill technical single tracks. Terrain is very varied from hard pack, sand, scree, rocky, and soft loamy dirt. Lots of skill level for everyone from beginner to pro. You can easily spend an entire day here and never hit the same trail twice. Bring plenty of water.

Review: The traction going down part of Backbone is awesome!!! They've been doing some trail maintenance that's really improved the downhill! Definitely a great ride now.

Review: Just opened after being closed for a 1.5 months due to heavy mud slides. Two Foxes and Sin Nombre are a lot of fun right now with some new features due to the event. Overlook and the fire road have been scraped and are mostly smooth. Backbone and upper Guad haven't changed too much, but Lower Guad has some deep ruts you need to be mindful of, also there are some new features so take your first run down like you would being on a new trail to be safe, but it is very fun. Sage is turning back into a single track.

Review: Pt. Magu SP is the park name but most refer to the area as Big Sycamore Canyon.

This is a great area for all ability levels with a combination of fire road and singletrack that can be ridden in various ways to create some really fun loops. The highlights are definitely the Backbone Trail DH from Overlook and the Guadalasca Trail.

There is water and restrooms throughout the canyon and you can ride right down to the ocean.

Review: Pt Mugu from the Big Sycamore Canyon entry point- the main trail begins with a gradual scenic climb, nothing difficult. A couple of miles in there is a fork leading to an array of single track and other more rutted , but widely spaced trails. If you take a left, you can access the two foxes trail (which becomes sin nombre) , the overlook trail, and wood canyon trail . To the right is the ranch center road. The trails are absolutely beautiful, and there is plenty to explore within the park. Not to mention the uncanny amount of wildlife I've encountered while riding these trails.
