Very rarely ridden but in great condition. Up and down around the back portion of Big Ridge. Lots of downed trees and other obstacles.

Getting there
Head north on Hixson Pike . Turn right on Gold Point Cir N like you are heading to Chester Frost State Park. Take another right on Ridge Bay Dr and follow it through the 4 way stop and down the hill to Gold Point Cir S. Take a right and an immediate left onto Nelson Spur. Follow Nelson Spur past all the houses and through a yellow gate. On the left there will be a small grassy area for parking next to street, big enough for a car or two. The trail head is on the right. It is very hard to see, so if you see more dirt roads turning off Nelson Spur turn around and head back towards the gate. The trail head is around 1/4 a mile from gate.

I'm not sure which trees you are talking about. There are a lot of different trails that seem to branch out. When you ride in about half way before the fallen trees there is a trail to the right that goes downhill and there are more trails down in that area. Every time I ran into impassable trees there was another trail to take. The trail appeared to be somewhat ridden all the way through. The ground was covered in leaves and pine needles but I could still discern where other people had ridden the trail. The trail seems very narrow but I'm not sure if that's because of the ground cover. Once you get into the trails there are some good uphills and the leaves add a little difficulty to the trail. I enjoyed riding this trail especially since it is only 5 minutes from my house but I wish there were more fast sections. I'm not sure how much of the original trail is actually rideable but I just put a computer on my bike and will post the distance after my next ride.

I finally had a chance to get back here. About half a mile into the trail there are huge trees that are unpassible.

It definitely needs some TLC. It took a good bit to find it and by then my daughter was pretty worn out. I cleared some logs and fallen trees about 1/4 mile from the entrance. It seemed pretty clear after that but my daughter had to get home for bed. I'll try it out again in the coming week and write another review then.

Trail is in bad shape. Trees down about half mile past the trail head. No point in going

Alot of broken limbs and leaves cover the trail. I have tried to clean up the begining of the trail but there is alot left to do. Only me and 2 other guys ride this trail every week. I have never seen anyone else on the trail. Once its cleaned up it will be very good.
