Hats off to those who've built and maintain the Back Yard Trails. They've done an amazing job with the space available. I've ridden there several times now, and will continue to do so as it's so close to the office. Nice jump lines that beginners can bypass, some natural technical stuff, and creative obstacles. The poo trail is neat, even though it's a slow ride. There are only quick, punchy climbs with short descents, but it's good to go in terms of getting your heart rate up.
The only drawback to riding the Back Yard Trails is that in spite of the great work done in creating these trails in such a small area, it's size requires lots of tight turns, doubling back on itself, and sometimes criss-crossing. As a result, you really can't ever settle into a groove and spin. So, if you're in the mood for a longer, XC type ride, this shouldn't be your first choice in the area.
