#22 of 278 mountain bike trails in Texas

The interior of the park is managed as a wildlife preserve and can be reached by foot, bicycle, or horseback only. Numerous trails lead into the hills and provide excellent views of the lake and the Hill Country. This area serves as home to a large number of whitetail deer, raccoon, fox, ringtail cat, and dozens of bird species. (from www.co.travis.tx.us)

Pace Bend is approximately 30 miles west of Austin on Lake Travis. From the intersection of RR 620 and Hwy. 71, take Hwy. 71 west 11 miles to RR 2322 (Pace Bend Park Road). Turn right on RR 2322 and travel 4.6 miles to the park entrance. (from www.co.travis.tx.us)

My first time there I was impressed. This is a fun trail to ride for all. Excellent for hiking, biking , fishing camping etc. after a ride in the park you can relax by the lake or go for a swim. I am definitely coming back. Worth the 10 dollar entry fee. Park is well maintained. The park employee informed that the trails are maintained by Austin Ridge Riders.
| Thankgood xc ride, some flat, some hills, some flow, some rock garden. over all is trail from green to blueish. after ride go do some swimming and cliff jump prefect day out.
| ThankLOW elevation so its easy for the not so fit.
| ThankLots of jumps, and Ricky trails. For advance riders
Wow! This is a great place to ride. Well worth the $10 entry fee, and you can go ride other state parks on the fee on the same day if you want...Riemers Ranch is nearby. The riding trails total around 15 miles and offer a wide range of difficulty, steeps, obstacles, and even a terrain park of sorts with wooden bridges and pump tracks. Fun for everyone. The best trail we found all day was the Wookie Way. Awesome!!! Long, varied terrain, with plenty of challenging obstacles, rocky climbs and descents, and some fast flowing sections to boot. This was a super fun trail! If I had more time, I would have ridden it again. There is also a sweet little technical loop off a midway point in the trail, called something like Rock Garden...something. Anyway, it was really fun and challenging. The state park is really nice and would be a great place to camp and ride multiple days. After riding several other trails in the Austin area this week, and coming from Golden, CO, Pace Bend was a real treat. My hat's off to those who built it. Well done! I'll be back next time we're in the area.
| ThankGreat trail network. The map I printed off from the state park website:

is a little out of date, but will get you to where you want to be. Lots of fun drops along the trails and they can be a little rocky. the Powerline Skills Park was very well done and super fun. Varying shade throughout the trails. We parked at the Abbey Road trailhead and rode Abbey Road-Well Road-Tapeworm-Pack Trail-Paleface Pass-Pack Trail-Powerline-Well Road-Wookie Way-Abbey Road. Fun loop that seemed a little too short and rounded out around 7 miles.
| ThankPerfect XC trail, fast and technical - Wookie is the trail to do
| ThankTrail has lots to offer. Some good climbs, descents, lots of rocks and some wooden features. Looks like this place has expanding trails and the builders do a good job of adding and changing things up.
| ThankWhere do I begin, I love this trail. It has amazing flow and the condition is awesome. Everything is well balanced, just the right amount up uphill/downhill/ and XC. If your in the area please don't miss out on the chance to ride this trail. You wont regret it
| ThankSingle track with a plethora of rock croppings. All climbs are doable but your strength will be zapped after navigating the rock. Slightly more technical than Reimers. A fairly new trail system that was built out in earnest by spicewookie of the AustinRidgeRiders/Bikemojos and dedicated vounteers over the past year or so. Added to the TMBRA race calendar for Spring of 2010.
